In the course of this month, we challenged our photographers to share their perspective of what love means to them. Along with a feature of their work, we are now enfolding their innermost thoughts in time for Valentine’s Day.
As cliché as it may sound, this Valentine’s Day we wanted to share the most personal thoughts our photographers had on the topic of love.
In the last couple of months, through the impact of Covid-19 many have realized that the loving relationship between two people is special and should not be taken for granted.
Today, the Cherrydeck Editorial Team would like to share the quotes accumulated over the last couple of weeks circling around the question — What Does Love Mean to You?
As love can be demonstrated in many different ways, the team has collected a versatile collection of photos.
Get inspired and feel the love below, as we present intimate quotes and loving photography! Happy (almost) Valentine’s Day!

Love is a moment. A look, a gesture, a posture, a silence, or a dazzle that disturbs the body and the mind like an ephemeral promise of elevation and eternity.

Daniel Mareno
Originally from Norway, Daniel is currently based in Los Angeles. His photography reflects portrait and lifestyle photography, often times integrating vibrant colours schemes. His quote on love is inspired by the ways you can say ‘I love you’ in Norwegian.
In Norwegian we separate between «Jeg er glad i deg» and «Jeg elsker deg». They both mean I love you, but «Jeg elsker deg» is more special and deep, and you don’t just say it to anyone. I remember explaining it to my Californian boyfriend once.
Love for me is about the desire to be there for the person I love, no matter what happens, through good and bad. It’s the feeling that I strongly feel inside when I think about him, no matter how far away physically we might be from each other. At times we’ve been more than 5000 miles apart, but I’ve still felt this feeling we all call love in my heart.
While I was explaining how Norwegians dedicate their love to each other, I realized that I don’t just love him, «Jeg elsker» him.

Kamyiis McLean
Kamyiis is an Editorial & Documentary and Fashion & Beauty photographer based in New York, USA.
Love is patient, caring. Love is kind. Love is felt most when it’s genuine. Love means knowing that no matter what, you have someone to count on. It’s unconditional and makes you feel good on the inside. You can trust the person you love and are comfortable around them. It’s like your heart tells you that it is good for you. Love never hurts or makes you cry your eyes out. Love conquers all.

Alejandra Vera Matos
Alejandra is a Fashion and Advertising photographer based in Spain.
I think that after some years I have finally understood that love is much more simple that what I’ve always though it was. For me love means the ability to feel in peace and calm with yourself, your environment and with those you share your life with. The coziness feeling I have when I feel safe and completely happy, that’s what love means to me.
Nina Masic

Love is the purest and highest frequency you can vibrate . It can have many forms and it’s the source of everything. It’s a selfless act of giving and sharing unity, acceptance and freedom.

Aks Huckleberry
Filmmaker and photographer Aks is based in Budapest and focuses on Fine Arts, Travel & Landscape, and Fashion & Beauty. Her thoughts of what love means to her are also greatly supported by model and musician Tom, featured below, and his album surrounding his love letter to Mother Earth.
… gently pick me up, cradle me and carry me home to myself. Falling in love is so easy, when you feel like yourself. I’ve been scattering my heart all over places, all over people & I’ve lost myself in the process. Oh, it’s pleasant, it’s fleeting, it doesn’t have to mean a thing. It’s the love itself that’s tricky, not falling in love.
